We’re a group of residents who live in the Wish Park area who have got together to celebrate and improve the Wish Park area.

We formed the group when we were given a grant from the council to hold a party when the first Brighton Marathon took place in 2010.

Since then we have held an annual Party in the Park every year for local people which have been lots of fun for everyone with activities for children, bring and share lunch and a tea party with amazing cakes.

In addition, we have raised funding for our very own community garden which allows residents to take part in growing vegetables and eating them.

We have also been responsible for Wish Hills, an area in the north-west side of the park which is a dedicated wild flower area and a much-needed bit of height to the park, plus an integral path allowing access deeper into the park for people with limited mobility. We’ve seen the installation of the Stag Beetle hotel and a Bee Bar to attract more insect life to the park, in conjunction with our park ranger friends at Brighton and Hove council.

We’ve held amazing Halloween events in the park as well as taken part every year in the Big Dig – including food prepared by the Community Chef grown in the community garden.

We’re also pleased to have been involved throughout in the planning of the fantastic new playpark which has been installed at Wish Park and has become a fantastic resource for Hove families.

We have been pleased to back Carla and Mark in the setting up of the lovely Wish Cafe which has transformed the park providing delicious coffee and snacks.

We love our park and hope you do too. Come along and get involved and meet your local community.

Well done on your achievements so far – looking forward to hearing further updates. A great initiative which will provide an opportunity to bring the wider community together – we all know our immediate neighbours, but how many of us know people from the other end of the street?

We may be able to give you some practical ‘on the day’ support, depending on what’s needed.

Hello, I trying to contact a lady called Mandy to discuss the setting up of a residents association. Do you know who I mean and are you able to give me or pass on my details?

    Many thanks
